Overview:
Complimentary vital training for staff and proprietors of SRS
Attending this training will support proprietors and staff of SRS to:
- Understand mental illness and behaviour
- Recognise behaviour triggers
- Interpret behaviour change
- Take safe and effective action
As of August 2015, the department requires all proprietors and staff of pension-level SRS to complete mental health training. Prior qualification may be recognised as meeting this requirement.*

2:00pm – 3:30pm | 90 minutes online learning |
*This requirement has been issued under section 205(c) of the Supported Residential Services (Private Proprietors) Act 2010.
This workshop has been adapted for online learning. There may be some changes to information provided during these online sessions. Due to time restrictions participants may also be required to complete post workshop reading or activities.
Delivery:
Due to recent restrictions from COVID-19 this workshop and all SRS workshops will be presented online through Zoom until at least June 2021.
All resources will also be emailed to participants prior to the workshop commencement date. After each session has concluded these resources will also be mailed along with a certificate of attendance. Certificates will also be sent via email.

This is an interactive session and participants need to be logged in 1-person per device. We use Zoom meeting platform and camera and microphone is required. If you can not meet this requirement please email events@lasa.asn.au or call 1300 111 636 to discuss.
Due to limited numbers per workshop there is an initial limit of 3 participants per facility.
Please note, if you decide to complete an online workshop at the SRS it is recommended you complete it outside of your rostered shift, this will ensure the SRS has appropriate staffing levels to support residents.
