Complimentary vital training for staff and proprietors of SRS
This online training is designed to equip Proprietors and Managers with the knowledge, skills and attitude to successfully manage an SRS consistent with the DFFH requirements and community expectations.
Knowing the legal obligations of running an SRS will ensure that resident’s rights are upheld and their safety is paramount. For staff working in the SRS, will provide clear procedures and expectations for undertaking their role and responsibilities.
Key Learning outcomes:
- Practical knowledge and understanding of the key legislation and standards applicable to Supported Residential Services in Victoria
- Applying residential policies, procedures and guidelines and work practices to case scenarios including minimum staffing requirements; residential support plans; resident intake, support and exit procedures, and fees and charges
- Knowledge of monitoring bodies and expectations for service delivery
- Familiarity with key procedures including incident reporting; complaints management and emergencies
This workshop has been adapted for online learning. There may be some changes to information provided during these online sessions. Due to time restrictions participants may also be required to complete post workshop reading or activities.

Due to restrictions from COVID-19 this workshop and all other SRS workshops will be presented online through Zoom.
All resources will also be emailed to participants prior to the workshop commencement date. Upon completion, certificates will also be sent via email.

This is an interactive session and participants need to be logged in 1-person per device. We use Zoom meeting platform and camera and microphone is required. If you can not meet this requirement please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1300 111 636 to discuss.
Due to limited numbers per workshop there is an initial limit of 3 participants per facility.
Please note, if you decide to complete an online workshop at the SRS it is recommended you complete it outside of your rostered shift, this will ensure the SRS has appropriate staffing levels to support residents.
