LASA is still awaiting formal Government advice concerning a planned schedule for comparable home care price publishing on the My Aged Care website, noting mandatory home care package price publishing on provider websites came into play on 30 November 2018.

A final reiteration of a pricing schedule to increase comparability is being presented to the NACA Gateway Advisory Group next week with communication from Government to home care providers of a finalised schedule expected to occur later this month.

Discussions thus far suggest a package management fee may be chargeable and LASA has argued that a proposed definition should include those administration components unique to home care package administration above fee-for-service administration requirements (e.g. quality review and legislative compliance requirements for approved home care providers).

Members should note that any advice being circulated that indicates a definitive decision on the future of administrative fees has been made is pre-emptive and should be considered with caution.

Members are encouraged to hold off from significantly changing pricing structures until official advice on approved Government process/changes are announced. Further advice to Members will be forthcoming as it is made available.
