Last night, the winner and runners up of the LASA Retirement Village Manager of the Year Award were announced at the Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) National Integrated Seniors Housing Conference 2018 on the Gold Coast

The winner of the LASA Retirement Village Manager of the Year Award is Jessica Miles, Village Manager of Renaissance Retirement Village in Cleveland, QLD.

Joint runners up for the Award were Jessica Madden, Manor Operations Manager, De Paul Manor Estate (Southport, QLD) and Genevieve Lee-Carroll, Village Coordinator, Leederville Gardens Estate (Leederville, WA).

LASA CEO Sean Rooney said the Award, sponsored by Hynes Legal, promotes and recognises excellence across the diverse and dynamic fields of endeavour in the retirement living industry.

“This award celebrates the passion and achievements of Village Manager (Renaissance Retirement Village) Jessica Miles who continually maintains high standards in customer service, sales and marketing, complaints and dispute resolution and robust operational management processes across the retirement community she manages,” Mr Rooney said.

“Jessica’s nomination particularly impressed the judges with the Renaissance Residents Committee also commending her for her clear, prompt and fair decision-making, effective communication skills, and not having had a single complaint made about her actions or decisions in her period as manager.

“Jessica’s leadership has created the positive, wonderful and vibrant community that Renaissance Retirement Village enjoys today.”

Mr Rooney also congratulated joint runners up Jessica Madden and Genevieve Lee-Carroll for their outstanding contributions not only to the retirement industry, but to the lives of the older Australians they care for.

The LASA Retirement Village Manager of the Year Award  showcases the important role played by retirement living and seniors housing operators in providing affordable, age-appropriate housing and vibrant social and community services for senior Australians.

The Awards were announced at LASA’s National Integrated Seniors Housing Conference 2018 (14-15 June) where a range of expert presenters have been providing insights on ways to adapt and thrive in the retirement and seniors housing sector.

The program was designed to challenge thinking and expand knowledge beyond conventional operational models and ask providers to consider a new approach to integrated age service delivery in seniors housing.
