Backed by industry with 150+ subscribers in first three months
The new online Safety & Quality Management System from Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) is a business solution designed to support providers beyond 1 July.
While the new Aged Care Quality Standards will be in place in less than a month, the age services industry should be aware that this is not the only regulatory change they will need to accommodate.
Legislative changes and adjustments to the new Standards—particularly in light of the Royal Commission—mean the goalposts may change, and that margin of error could be significant when it comes to compliance.
LASA CEO Sean Rooney says this is something that was factored into the development of the quality system from the beginning.
“We understand that maintaining compliance long-term is an issue for providers, and that’s why we offer free updates as part of the subscriber package,” he said.
“Staying up-to-date with the latest requirements is a must-have in order for providers to take the time to focus on their primary work, to deliver high quality care.
“Providers need to be secure in the knowledge they have the right policies and procedures in place, in real time.”
When providers have their operations under control, they can take the time to work with their staff on transformative and innovative care solutions, and to develop a new vision for care.
“LASA’s quality system is not just about 1 July, it’s about a long-term solution for providers that they can rely on,” said Mr Rooney.
“We’ve built-in features that will take their operations to another level, such as dual language capability and compatibility with other business systems, such as care management, finance and storage, so they have a one-stop-shop solution.
“It’s really about giving providers the confidence to take control of their business and be in a strong position to drive the cultural change embedded in the new Standards.”
With more than 150 subscribers to LASA’s quality system in the first three months, uptake has exceeded expectations and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
LASA’s quality system is for residential and home care providers, with free help desk support during business hours. There is a 20% discount for LASA Members. In recognition of the extra challenges in regional areas, all rural & remote operators also get a 20% discount (that means rural & remote operators who are also LASA Members save 40%).
