The aged care sector has experienced over a decade of disruption in funding, clinical requirements and legislative changes amidst a background of changing consumer needs and expectations.
The learnings from the financial services royal commission, as well as the recently established royal commission into Australia’s aged care sector highlight the importance of putting the consumer first and finding the right balance between societal purpose and sustainability.

Who should attend this workshop? 

This workshop aims to equip directors, company secretaries, risk managers and other senior managers in aged care with insights, tools and questions to refine and strengthen their approaches.


Chris Edith, State Manager QLD, Leading Age Services Australia
Chris has been providing member support and advice in the Queensland office of LASA for 3 years prior to taking up the State Manager role and has travelled extensively across the State, convening Regional Industry Forums and Home Care and Residential Care Advisory group meetings. Chris provides support to members at all levels, including training, in-service support and consultancy. She is actively engaged across the state to ensure LASA maintains its high profile and credibility and value adds to members, internal business partners and external stakeholders.  Chris has provided back up support for Home Care and Residential Care; is passionate about people, paper and processes and supporting members at all levels.
Chris has extensive work experience with the (then) Aged Care Quality Agency as an assessor/reviewer and also with the Department of Health (Federal), including at the policy level. Chris also has many years of experience in the community sector and as a staff trainer and HR manager and holds a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education and Human Resource Management.
