Fixed vs variable funding design: An AN-ACC approach to funding classification for Support at Home

There is considerable concern among home care providers about the proposed assessment, classification and funding design for the Support at Home Program. The Program’s proposed design drives a largely transactional output driven funding approach that focuses on cost control while impeding the realisation of relationship-based and quality care outcomes.

The Support at Home Alliance are proposing an alternate classification and funding design approach for Support at Home that gives considered account to balancing fixed and variable costs in care delivery. This funding model builds on the funding approach for residential care that will commence October 2022 via the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) care funding model.

This webinar will review the proposed alternate classification and funding design approach, providing opportunity for Members to consider the benefits and vulnerabilities in advocating for this approach as part of the future Support at Home Program design.
