Overview:
Should Directors receive remuneration is a frequently asked question of LASA, Governance Evaluator and the Governance Institute of Australia.
With the increasing expectations, demands and risks that Directors are exposed to or responsible for, the challenge of sourcing Director talent will increase. The Royal Commission Assisting Counsel’s recommendation will only exacerbate this. Despite this, there are strong arguments to be made for Directors with a strong connection to the purpose of the organisation they serve in a voluntary capacity.
LASA is hosting a debate which will unpack the issues from both sides of the argument about whether the days of volunteer directors in aged care will soon be over. Moderated and hosted by GM Member Services, Brendan Moore, the debate will feature short presentations from two speakers on each side of the argument.
